Christmas is celebrated differently arouond the world. For instance, in Ethiopia known as Genna is celebrated on the seventh of January. The tradtional celebration takes place in ancient churches carved from volcanic rock and also in modern chureches worshiping God and praying. After that people would receive candles as they enter the churhc, then by lighting the candles everyone walks around the church three times, which normally last up to three hours because of mass crowed. This is how the Orthodox Christains celebrate Genna.

Injera and wat is the Ethiopian national dish. It is a hot spciy stew accompained by jnjera (traditional large sore pancake made of teff flour and water.) Teff is a unique to the country and is grown on the Ethiopian highlands. Injera is served with varieties of wat, e.g. chicken, beef, lamb, vegetables, lentils and ground split peas stewed with hot spice called berbere.

Finally! It’s snowing in London!
Time for some hot chocolate, a big jumber and telling stories by the fireplace.. or the heater.
